Works using XP and Vista

I have tried this external drive on a computer running windows xp sp2, and vista ultimate 32-bit, and the drive installs itself automatically on both, no need to download or install drivers.
No problems reading any of my old floppy disks. |
Great little box of tricks

I still use floppy discs with my midi kit, so this usb external drive was a must.
It is a compact unit and using it was quite literally a plug and play process. I'm running XP sp2 on a HP laptop.
The drive self installed and in just a few seconds there was a floppy drive icon in the My Computer window and it was ready to go.
Works great and is cheaper than a lesser know brand name currently being sold on gizoo. |
Excellent piece of kit

| Although this is marketed as a laptop drive, I actually wanted it for my new Dell Inspiron 530 Desktop, which like most current machines do not ship with a floppy drive. I placed my order mid-afternoon on a Wednesday, received an email to the effect that my order had shipped two hours later. Standard shipping was given as Royal Mail 3-5 working days. The postman handed it to me 20 mins ago, just two days later. I unwrapped it, plugged it in to a spare front-panel USB port and less than ten seconds later Vista proclaimed my new device to be installed and ready for use.I have since run eight floppies through it. It could read two of them and Vista suggested I format the rest. Some of these floppies, including the ones it could read are fifteen years old and have not been stored well. I highly recommend this drive. The driver CD is not requied for Vista Home Premium. |

| Unwrapped it; plugged it in; it worked. Perfect. Didn't need the accompanying driver as it's on a small (4") CD that won't work in my CD drive. I'm running XP Pro SP2. |

This is a good bit of kit. I just plugged it in and it loaded its drivers and that was that.
My laptop runs vista and every thing is fine.
Cant fault it at all. |
