Seagate 500 gb GO docking station and case review.

First thing you will notice is the build quality and feel of these items its very good. The cradle has good length of cord with twin usb adaptor for attaching to two computers at one time.
The base is coated underneath with that really smooth good rubberized feeling which makes it non-slip when using the Seagate 500 gb unit and more easily to see the function lights of the unit when using it upright in the cradle.
The case is fine with elasticated sides which secure the unit when storing or transporting. If you buy the Seagate 500 gb unit you need to buy these to compliment the unit you'll be glad you did once you see the quality of these Seagate products.

This docking station, is as it says. Excellent customer service from Kikatek. Arrived within two days. Highly recommend them.
Good, even for the larger drives

It perhaps deserves clarification that this case is still a good fit for the physically larger 880GB and 1TB FreeAgent Go drives (which are thicker than their lower-capacity counterparts). The elastic that holds the case together can easily stretch for a neat fit, and the drive feels very safe when encased. The small pouch for the drive's USB cable is useful, and means your HDD can be carried in one self-contained package.

The dock unit is suitable for the larger drives, but a minor irritation is that the weight distribution is not quite perfect due to the fact that the drive overhangs the front of the dock a little. It almost feels as if the dock-and-drive unit is on the point of tipping over; I've had no accident with it yet, but I'd be a little hesitant to leave the drive in the dock when unattended.

Overall, though, a very handy and relatively inexpensive complement to any FreeAgent Go drive.

I recently purchased the seagate docking station to go with the seagate portable hardrive. The station is very stable and sits by my laptop , making using it easy.Much nicer than just having it lying around the laptop.The case to put the harddrive in is a good fit and keeps it safe in transite.
